Beginner Guitar Lessons – Introduction

Posted by TJ on 9th March 2009 in Uncategorized

Welcome to the Beginner Guitar Lessons! I’m happy you’re here. If you are new to playing guitar then this free guitar tutorial is what you need. Please don’t expect nor push yourself too hard to be able to play or shred your guitar like all those pros or guitar gods since playing guitar, especially for beginners can be quite painful and frustrating. Playing guitar is supposed to be fun and if you find it hurts your fingers then you must have been doing it the wrong way.

In this free Beginner Guitar Lessons you will learn how to play guitar, understand the basic guitar chords, guitar chords progression, how to tune a guitar properly, as well as knowing your guitar parts. Yes, you will have to understand your guitar’s anatomy. By doing this you can fine tune your guitar -especially acoustic guitars- in case you feel it doesn’t feel right in your hand or it doesn’t sound good due to buzzing strings. However I’m not recommending this to be done on electric guitars because electric guitars setting should be done by experienced people or guitar technicians only.

Now, let’s talk about your goal. Ask yourself, what is your target? Some people may be happy enough to play simple songs, but others may need more challenges, i.e. to form a rock band or to become a lead guitarist. Whatever your goal is, you can’t skip this phase: Practice! Yes, I believe you know by heart that practice makes perfect.  Easy to say but frankly it can be boring too ….. You should have a good determination otherwise you will start thinking that guitar is just not right for you. Then you will switch to drums or other musical instruments and repeat the same mistakes.

Whilst there are tons of guitar sites available, I understand that some beginners are actually looking for simple information only, which sometimes overlooked by those sites offering their visitors high quality -and most of the time complicated- licks, riffs and techniques. If you are a completely beginner I would recommend you to stay away from those sites, at least until you have enough background and ammunition to join in the battlefield.

Alright then, this will be your first Lesson: Practice Make Perfect! Determination! Yay!

To Your Success
