Guitar Bridge – How It Works

Together with the tuning pegs guitar bridge provides tension to the guitar strings. The higher the tension the higher the string’s pitch will be. In addition to supporting the strings, guitar bridge also works as a transmitting medium. It transmits the strings vibration to the guitar top so the sound can be amplified in the guitar body cavity.  Without the guitar body we can hardly hear the sound because as the strings vibrate they only displace place a small volume of air. Electric Guitar Parts

Hi everybody, welcome back to the Beginner Guitar Lessons blog! While this blog was set up for acoustic guitar beginners I truly believe there are people starting with electric guitars instead of the acoustic ones for some reasons. Some of the ‘excuses’ are playing chords using electric guitar is much easier because the neck is thinner and the string action is much lower. Guitar Fret – What You Need to Know

Talking about guitar maintenance we sometimes overlook the guitar frets condition.

Guitar fret is made of an alloy of copper and nickel, a much softer material compared to the stainless steel guitar strings. On acoustic guitars the first and second strings will cut into the frets faster than the other strings, because they are thin and sharp, and made of stainless steel. The rest strings are wound by other alloy materials such as nickel, bronze or brass which are softer than stainless steel so they won’t cut as severe as the first two strings. Tuning Pegs
